Learn how to use Origin to download games, store them in the cloud, and monitor your achievements.

When you buy a digital edition of a game or downloadable content (DLC) for a game through Origin, it’s automatically added to My Game Library, whether from the Store tab in the client or from origin.com.

You can also include titles that you purchased outside of Origin, such as physical games. From the Origin menu, select Redeem Product Code… and enter your codes there.

Is it possible to play on both a PC and a Mac?

Some of our games are available on both platforms. That means that if you buy a game and add it to your account, you’ll be able to see it on both Mac and PC when you check-in.

Start the Origin application.

• Log in to your Electronic Arts ( EA) account.
• Go to My Game Library to get start.
• Use these procedures to figure out what’s missing from your game collection if you can’t find it.
• By clicking the grey arrow pointing down in the lower left corner of the game tile, you can download your game.
• Download the game by right-clicking on the game tile.
• By clicking on the game, further information, including an orange Download button, will appear.
• To install and play your game, simply follow the on-screen directions.

Why did I get an error message saying that too many machines have recently accessed my game?

If you receive a message saying, “Too many machines have recently accessed this account’s version of [game name], please contact us.” Please come back later and try again.

This is because, according to our Terms of Service, you can only install your game on up to five computers in a 24-hour period.

Here are some examples of what can be considered a new computer:

• Use a different machine
• Using a virtual machine and a cloud gaming service, you can change the hardware on your existing PC.

You may have to wait up to 24 hours to relaunch the game. If you’re still seeing the issue after 24 hours, please contact us so we can assist you.

KEEP YOUR GAMES AT THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR MINUTES.

You can specify the maximum download rate for games and whether or not they should download while you play other games.

• Here’s how to do it:
• Launch the Origin application.
• In the top menu bar, select Origin.
• Select the Application Settings option.

From then, it’s as follows:

• You’ll find dropdowns for your maximum download rate when out of game and during gameplay under Download Restrictions.
• You have the option of selecting from a variety of speeds, up to No Limit.
• You can pick Don’t download while playing to ensure that nothing downloads while you’re playing.

STORAGE IN THE CLOUD

You can save your saves on the cloud in some of our games. When you enable cloud storage, your data will be stored on our secure EA servers rather than on your hard disc. That means that if you’re signed into your account, you may access your saved games from any computer.

By default, cloud storage is enabled. Do you want to modify it? You can do this in your preferences:

• Launch the Origin application and use Origin to download games.
• In the top menu bar, select Origin.
• Select the Application Settings option.
• The Installs & Saves tab should be selected.
• Make sure Saves is turned on — or off — under Cloud Storage, depending on your preferences.

You can check the game’s properties to see if it supports cloud saving:

• Start the Origin application.
• Select My Game Library from the drop-down menu.
• Right-click the game you wish to verify and select Game Properties from the drop-down menu.
• You’ll see a Cloud Storage tab next to the General tab if it’s available. If you don’t see a tab, it’s because there isn’t one. The game isn’t cloud-based, therefore you won’t be able to save your progress.

Please keep in mind that cloud saving is platform-specific. You can only access your cloud saves from another PC if you save your game on a PC. The same is true for Mac.

ACHIEVEMENTS ARE MONITORED.

You may gain achievements in several of our games by playing them.

With Origin, you can keep track of your achievements in a variety of EA games. Check out your profile page to see what awards you’ve received.

What are Origin Points, and what do they mean?

Origin Points allow you to keep track of your accomplishments and progress while playing some of our games, earning you bragging rights among your friends. Try to out-earn each other by seeing how many you can obtain.

Do you want to know how many Origin Points you have and what achievements you have? In Origin In-Game, go to your personal page and click Achievements, or go to a game’s details page and click Achievements.

When it comes to Origin In-Game, you can use the dashboard to:

• Search the web,
• get online assistance,
• communicate with friends on your friends’ list, and even livestream to Twitch.
• This can be accomplished without ever leaving the game.

Receiving credit for achievements that have been earned but not yet unlocked is an achievement that has earned credit for achievements that have been earned but not yet unlocked.

To receive credit for achievement and earn Origin Points, you must be online.
